Click here Register here to become a volunteer About the Role Centre of Wellbeing, Training & Culture (CWTC) is looking for a friendly and reliable volunteer to support our IT, digital media and community activities. This is a practical role offering an opportunity to gain experience while supporting CWTC staff, learners and volunteers. Main Duties • Support basic IT sessions and help learners use computers, email and the internet. • Assist learners who have limited IT skills or English language skills. • Help with basic video and audio editing. • Support the editing of podcasts, interviews and community event recordings. • Help organise and manage digital files, photographs and video content. • Assist with cameras, microphones and other digital equipment when required. • Support the creation of simple social media and promotional content. • Help staff and volunteers with basic IT and technical issues. • Support CWTC community events and activities when required. Key information Start Date: 14th September 2026 End Date: 17th December 2026 Volunteer: Weekly Availability: Monday AM, Monday PM, Tuesday AM, Tuesday PM, Wednesday AM, Wednesday PM, Thursday AM, Thursday PM Tasks: Skills We Are Looking For • Basic knowledge of computers and digital technology. • Some experience or interest in video/audio editing. • Good communication and patience when supporting learners. • Reliable, friendly and willing to learn. • Able to work as part of a team. • An interest in supporting the local community. We ask for volunteers to commit to 3 days a week. Training: What CWTC Offers • Practical experience in IT and digital media. • Opportunities to develop video, audio and editing skills. • Experience supporting community projects and events. • Training and guidance from CWTC staff. • A reference may be provided following satisfactory volunteering. • Opportunities to build confidence, experience and employability skills. • Reasonable public transport expenses will be reimbursed. Previous professional experience is not essential. We welcome people who are keen to learn and contribute to the work of CWTC. It provides training in employment, and media skills; health awareness and arts activities through wellbeing café; community podcasts and YouTube channel for health and social care services, employers, community organisations, artists and local residents to network, access information and services. CWTC works with young people, unemployed people, elder people, community organisations, colleges, employers and health and social care services. CWTC has superb facilities, which have disable access, in the city centre of Oldham. The facilities include offices, a hall to cater upto 80 people, projector screen and PA sound system, audio and film studio and wellbeing café. The centre is located near to tram and bus station with surrounding car parking. It’s a great safe place to learn skills, engage and network for our diverse community.
